الملخص
تعد الكنيسة من المباني الدينية المسيحية القديمة التي لازالت شاخصة في مدينة الموصل القديمة، وتحديدا في منطقة شهر سوق (اومحلة المنصورية), وهي من الأبنية التي يعود تاريخها الى القرن الرابع الميلادي بدلالة انخفاض مستوى أرضية الكنيسة عن الشارع مما يدل على تعاقب العصور وتقادم الزمن فضلا عن القرب من المذبح .وتعود أصولها الى طائفة الكلدان الذين يملكون اكبر عدد من الكنائس في مدينة الموصل القديمة.وموقع الكنيسة خلف الجامع المعروف بجامع(عمر الأسود) وتتوسط المباني السكنية ،فضلا عن وجود القبر القريب من المذبح ويقع تحت الأرض او ينزل اليه بعدد من الدرجات.
